So many people are tempted by the shiniest, newest thing. But if you are using Fons, you already have the best platform money can buy. The other ones aren’t better. The other ones aren’t even as good. The others ones aren’t cheaper. And the free ones? Well, you get what you pay for.
I wasn’t shopping for a different platform. I was using a friend’s website and platform for payment and booking. It was a mess. It got me curious about that product, the pricing, the features. I’ll admit – it looked really good from the marketing images and copy. But the user experience was dreadful. I asked my friend how they liked the platform and the friend actually apologized saying, ‘I know it’s not the best but I invested the money into it and now I’m stuck with it.’
That was a big lightbulb moment for me. I know how that person feels and I’ve been there before. You have to pay an annual fee to get the ‘discount’ and then you are locked in and feel like you are tied to something for whatever the term is.
Think about that in terms of your memberships and your business. Are people able to gracefully exit? Or do they feel ‘stuck?’ Do you have courses or memberships with refund policies? How would you want to approach a business to ‘undo’ a membership? What could a business do to help you not only feel resolved, but still good about that business even if you cancelled a membership or subscription?
I think there is room for good creativity and growth around these questions. What if the exits are just as important as the entries?
And yes, definitely stick with Fons…the grass isn’t greener ‘over there.’
